Coaching used to have such a stigma. It was associated with low performance and, possibly, a last-ditch intervention before someone was shown the door. In some companies, that may still be true, but today, coaching is more frequently tied to talent development, especially of high potentials. And more companies are making coaching a foundational component of their development initiatives.

GCASTD has been selected as the ASTD Chapter of the Month for January, 2012!
This award recognizes us for our accomplishments, including Chapter Operating Requirements (CORE) achievement, Sharing Our Success (SOS) submission acceptance, and overall chapter strength, growth and innovation. Recognition at the National level for our good work is always great! For our achievement, our chapter received a letter from ASTD CEO Tony Bingham congratulating us on our accomplishment, a Learning Management System and a cash prize!

Just announced! For our participation in Employee Learning Week December 5-9, 2011, our chapter has been named an ASTD "Champion of Learning"!
Since our involvement and recognition of the important connection between learning and achieving organizational results, we were honored with a certificate from ASTD National.
